ERDC is an initiative of NCOK (Dutch Smart Fertilization Organization). NCOK is a network of a variety of Dutch companies active in the field of precision fertilization with biobased fertilizers, thus facilitating high yielding crop production without negative external effects on the environment, or in other words facilitating responsible plant nutrition . The best practices for this appraoch are reknown as the socalled four R ‘s of precision fertilization, being right source, right place, right time and right rate.
NCOK considers since long RENURE as the ultimate right source for fertilization from agronomic, economic, ecological and societal perspective. It goes without words, therefor that NCOK welcomes the coming in force of the EU Directive on Renure in January 2026 as a major first step towards full adoption of responsibele plant nutrition as common practice by the farming community in the EU.
The step now to be taken is to bring about independent, low cost and easily accessable communication with the different target groups on the subjec of production and use of RENURE, based on the letter and te spirit of the Directive on Renure. NCOK believes that a farmers cooperative is an effective type of organization to achieve this and therefore launches the European Renure Development Cooperative in Formation .
